Architectural Wonders of Rajasthan

City Palace, Udaipur

One of the most fascinating attraction of Rajasthan is City Palace of Udaipur. Beautifully overlooking the placid Lake Pichola, It is a great architectural delight. It was built by Maharana Udai Singh and was later on renovated later by his successors who added some more attractive structures to the Palace complex. The impressive building is built in marble and granite. Hati Pol or the Elephant Gate is the prime attraction of this.


Amber Palace The Amber Palace was built by the Kachhwajas, under the regime of Mughals.

Ganesh pol in the palace is adorned with elegant frescoes and enhanced with carved pavilions. Sheesh Mahal is another worth praising historical monument, beautified with glass. Jai Mandir has over millions of glass pieces on stucco.


Lake Palace Impressively located on the Jag Niwas island, Lake Palace is a marvelous architectural wonder. It was built by Maharana Jagat Singh in the year 1743. Enhanced with intricate inlay work, It showcases the excellent work of craftsmanship. Lake Palace is now converted onto a five star hotel.


City Palace, Jaipur The City Palace of Jaipur is a hot tourist attraction of the city. The palace served as resident for the royal family of Rajput ruler. It was built by Maharaja Jai Singh II and later few beautiful mansions were added in this complex by his successors. It is divided into blossoming gardens and courtyards. The Mubarak Mahal has its own charm and beauty which leaves the visitors mesmerized. Other worth visiting buildings in the complex includes Sh. Govind Dev temple, Badal Mahal, Chandra Mahal and museum.
